DAY CAMP

For Dogs!

Day Camp is full for the rest of the season. Starting in December, we are offering a day program called Dog School. Find more details here.

Day Camp is intended as a day training program that provides a well-rounded day of mental enrichment, formal training, playtime, rest time, and real-world experiences.

More focused and customized than daycare, and less intensive than Board & Train (your dog is home with you every night!)

We find it to be a happy medium to achieving new reliability and training goals with your dog - while giving them something to do during the day.

We communicate your dog's progress with you through photos, videos, e-mail updates, and a follow-up private training session (included in the price of the Day Camp program.)

During the private follow-up session, you will learn how to maintain your dog's progress.

Day Camp enrollment is open to most dogs.

Day Camp is a great fit for dogs of any age who would benefit from a custom training program with their own personal trainer, time outside of the house during the day,

structured playtime with other dogs and people (if appropriate)

As well as dogs who are overwhelmed by traditional daycare environments.

We ask that dogs applying for Day Camp meet these minimum criteria:

• Dog friendly to mildly reactive

(we cannot take aggressive dogs in Day Camp. See Private Training page for options for aggressive dogs.)

  • relatively comfortable in new environments

  • should be able to kennel/settle during break times.

While these are behaviors that can be worked on during Day Camp,

it does provide a smoother experience for the multiple dogs in our care

if these basic guidelines apply to your dog.

SOME OF OUR CLIENT FEEDBACK

"Both my dogs did the 3 days a week day camp. They come back happy and tired and I always get an update on what was worked on so I can do it at home! There training is very customized as both my dogs had very different needs. I can't wait to take some of the other classes they offer."

"We enrolled our dog in day camp and it was great. Mary is an amazing trainer - super patient with our high anxiety dog (and us!) and gave us some simple, easy-to-implement tactics for continuing the training at home."

"Hannah has been wonderful with our 2 Springer Spaniels. She has helped us better understand how to manage/overcome various behavior issues and has really helped with obedience training. I love her new program where she picks up the dog, spends the day training and brings him home. She also takes time to video tape and talk through the events of the day. She is very flexible and reliable. Would definitely recommend her!"

We were at our wits end with our adolescent Dalmatian. After trying several trainers (both class and private sessions) we were lucky enough to find A New Leash! We enrolled Ketch in day camp and saw him thrive while learning new behaviors and communication. You will be amazed how [Mary] knows what they need and are thinking. We are thrilled and Thankful to have Mary and Hannah available for training and boarding. We received videos and pictures along with detailed training support. Highly recommend!
